William Francis Barrow “Uncle Bill” age 98, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully under hospice care Friday July 18, 2025.
Born on December 15, 1926, in Toledo, Ohio. William was the beloved son of Francis and Myrtle Barrow. William enjoyed the outdoors. He loved boating and fishing on Lake Erie. He enjoyed taking a year to travel around the country in his airstream and taking his boat, Luckey Boy, out on the water.
William was a proud United States Army veteran. He served during World War II. William was a longstanding member of The American Legion Post (Maumee) and was the oldest member there. In his spare time, he enjoyed flying his plane and working on greenhouses.
William is survived by many nieces and nephews: Fred (Nancy) Heaney, Jane Rees, John (Linda) Barrow, Joan Stricklin, Daryl Martin, Judy (Al) Goldberg, James (Barbara) Betz, Kenny Heaney, Roger (April) Barrow, Edward (Deborah) Betz and close friend Dianne Toffler. William was proceeded in death by his siblings, John Barrow Sr., Helen Betz, and Mary Jane Heaney; his great friend, Ray (Virginia) Butler and niece Lona Meadow and great niece Debra Goldberg.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Friday, August 1st from 4 – 8 PM. The Funeral Ceremony will be conducted at the Reeb Funeral Home on Saturday August 2, 2025, at 12:00pm. Following the service, William will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
