Tofel George Tarsha

George Toufel Tarsha, 87, of Toledo, OH, passed away, Monday, December 9, 2024, from cancer at the Northwest Ohio Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born in Toledo, OH, on March 28, 1937. In his youth he was active in the Boys Club where he enjoyed swimming and basketball. George began employment with AMC Jeep at ground level and worked his way up the corporate ladder to management, retiring from the Distribution and International Departments. Throughout his life George always made family his priority. Family vacations and family gatherings every Sunday were the norm. He was an avid golfer. George enjoyed playing poker card games, fishing in Minnesota, Jeep racing and obstacle courses. He was always there if family and friends needed a place to stay. George and his family even offered shelter to strangers during the blizzard of 1978.                                                                                                                                                                           He is survived by his loving wife of more than 63 years, Phyllis Tarsha; daughters Kelly (Jerry) O’Blenis  and Kim (Jim) Heninger; son Raygene Tarsha; sister Georgette (Nick) Voich; brother Sam (Barb) Tarsha; grandchildren Ashly, Christopher, Tiffany, Angela, Shannon, and Eric; and 15 great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his brother Louie; and son-in- law Randy. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Highland Meadows Golf Club, 7455 Erie St. Sylvania, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm, where you are welcome to share memories and stories of George. Those wishing to offer memorials in George’s memory are asked to consider, in lieu of flowers, tributes to the Boys and Girls Club of Toledo or the Toledo Northwest Ohio Food Bank- Help Feed Our Neighbors.
