Timothy Estes Obituary

Timothy Jon Estes

Tim Estes, a Sheet Metal Journeyman, died at the Toledo Hospital surrounded by love on May 7, 2021 at the age of 61.

Tim is survived by his wife, Christina (Stump) Estes; his children, Ashley Marie (Scott Kobeck Jr), Timothy Harley (Lex), Arianna Rose and Abraham Charles; his sister, Holly (Dave) Kovach; his brother, Philip (Peg) Estes; his only surviving aunt Evelyn Erdman; his in-laws Ray and Marilyn Stump; his brother-in-law Westley (Krista) Stump and his sisters-in-law Valerie (Ed) Thomas and Ranee (Dianne) Stump; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Tanner) Ellis, Ariel (Joseph) Backus, Zach Estes, Garrett Kovach, Reagan Kovach, Alexa Stump, Lincoln Thomas and Lyla Thomas; he was Grandpa Pirate to Kyleigh Kobeck.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Estes; his cousins, Cyndi Pohorecki, David Erdman and Julie Dambra; and his niece, Kendall Stump.

Tim was born in Toledo on July 9, 1959 to Charles and Dorothy (Sankiewicz) Estes. He graduated from Bowsher High School in 1977.  He lived in California for a short time between graduation and moving back to the Toledo area. In California, he welcomed two children; a daughter on July 12, 1992 and a son on May 4, 1994. He moved back to Toledo in 1995 and went to trade school to become a Sheet Metal Journeyman, joining Local 33. On June 28, 2008, he married Christina Stump, a lab specialist whom he met while renovating the HVAC in the lab she was working in. On October 30, 2010 and September 12, 2012 respectively, he welcomed a daughter and a son.

Tim was a devoted father (often bragging and telling stories about all of his children), ever loving husband, military historian extraordinaire (Civil War and WWII especially), avid weapons enthusiast (he was the Garand Man at local gun shows), budding numismatist and lover of cars and motorcycles (Harley Davidson and Chevy Corvette). Family was always close to his heart and he was especially close to his sister and her family even though states away. He was a man of diverse talents from antique collecting to building his own home. He was an extremely hard worker who built up his own HVAC business. He took pride in any project he started and strived to ensure people were pleased with the results. He was ever the joke teller with one of the most infectious laughs which made his tongue jiggle just a little.  He loved his dogs over the years from his Doberman Harley and Great Dane Rebel, to his surviving Great Danes Bane and Magnus.  He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.  He always knew someone or made a friend no matter where he travelled.

The family wishes to thank the many nurses, doctors and staff that took such incredible care of him while he was inpatient at Toledo Hospital.

Visitation is scheduled for 12-3pm on May 15, 2021 at the Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, OH. A service is to follow at 3pm.  Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to or dropped off at any Metamora State Bank location in the name of Ari & Abe Estes Education Fund.
