Thomas “Tom” Caster, age 81, of Ottawa Lake Michigan passed away January 21, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo Ohio February 25, 1942, to Mabel and George Caster. He graduated from the University of Toledo with an associate degree in engineering and proudly served in the US Army National Guard in the 612th Engineering Battalion as an E-6 Tank commander. He worked along his son at CC Pools, and retired from Henry Gurtzweiler in 2002, also worked at Art Iron, Inc. for 23 years. Tom could fix anything and was always willing to take on any new challenge. He was a member of the Conn-Weissenberger Post for many years and participated in the “All Male Follies”. Tom was also an avid snow mobiler, a race fan, of Formula One, Indy and NASCAR. He loved woodworking and made beautiful furniture. He was a hard worker all his life. Tom was preceded in death by brother, George, stepchildren, Steve, Tammy and Ben Ragan. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joyce, son, Craig (Bridget) Caster, daughter-in-law, Suzanne Ragan and grandchildren, Noah, Drew, Nate, Braden Caster, Steve (Mandy), Lucas, Matthew, Deric, Cooper and Emma Ragan. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park at a separate time. He was cremated at Toledo Memorial Park per his wishes. Donations in Toms name maybe offered to Michigan Snowmobile and ORV Association, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Hickman Cancer Center. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
