Terry Lynn (Draper) Turner, 82, of Sylvania, OH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.
Terry was born on April 3, 1943, in Ann Arbor, MI to F. Meryl Draper and Zella E. (Spence) Draper. She was a graduate of Ann Arbor High School as a member of the Class of 1961. After graduation, she moved to Annapolis, MD to begin her life with the love of her life, James (Jim) Richard Turner. On June 6, 1963, they got married at the United States Naval Academy.
Terry was a devoted Navy wife and a loving mother to her three boys: Jim (J.R.), Rob (Bobby), and Jeff. She held several meaningful jobs in her life. She was a substitute teacher and nurse at First Baptist School in Charleston, SC, where her boys attended school. She also worked for many years at the Calico Cat store in Saline, MI following husband Jim’s retirement from the Navy in 1991. In 1993, she gained another title that she held with so much love and joy, that of being a beloved Grandma. She was also a long-time member of Crossroads Community Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, MI.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons Jim (Priscilla) of Sylvania, OH, Rob of Partlow, VA, and Jeff (Malia) of Silverdale, WA. She is also survived by her brothers Dick (Win) Draper and David (Sandy) Draper. In addition, she is survived by 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents Meryl and Zella Draper, her sisters Mary Cogswell and Jeannine Rowe, and her beloved daughter-in-law Kathy (Moline) Turner. Terry will lay in rest with her beloved husband Jim at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, OH.
Visitation will be at Reeb Funeral Home on Saturday, December 27, 2025 starting at 11:00am until the funeral service begins at noon. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
