Susan E. Keck, age 76, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Perrysburg, Ohio, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Mac and Mary (Preece) Snyder on August 27, 1949. Sue married Larry Keck on December 4, 1970, while later raising together their son Matthew in Toledo, finally moving to Whitehouse in 1989 and residing there until her passing.
After graduating from Sylvania High School in 1967, Sue received her Nursing Certificate to be a Registered Nurse from Maumee Valley School of Nursing in 1970. She worked in orthopedics at Flower Hospital, followed by a career in discharge planning and coordination of care at both the Flower and Toledo Hospital campuses, spanning over 35 years in nursing.
Sue was a long-time, involved, and dedicated member of Heritage Church of God in Maumee, OH, while being a lifelong Ohio State Buckeye fan (O-H!!). Early hobbies of snowmobiling, slalom water-skiing and camping gave way over time to multiple bible studies, following her grandsons around feverishly to a ballpark or concert where they played, or enjoying the Heritage Travelers on cruises and adventures around the world.
Sue is survived by her loving husband and life-long partner of 55 years, Larry; her son Matthew (Alisa) Keck; grandsons Alexander & Nicholas Keck; her brother Robert (Bessie) Snyder; Sister-in-law Shirley Staniszewski; Brother-in-law Rick (Karen) Keck; Sister-in-law Vicky (Dean) McCollum; and many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 3 to 8pm and Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 9 to 10am at Heritage Church of God in Maumee, OH. A funeral service will begin at 10am on Saturday at Heritage Church following the morning visitation. A funeral luncheon will be provided for all friends and family at Heritage Church in celebration of Sue’s life, after a short internment for immediate family members. Contributions in Sue’s name may be graciously given to Heritage Church of God.
