Stephen Lynn Westrick

Beloved husband, father and grandfather Stephen (Steve) Lynn Westrick age 79 of Toledo, Ohio died on July 1, 2026.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis Benecke Westrick, daughter Sheila O’Kane married to James, daughter Laurie Filary married to Dave, and grandchildren Lila and Owen.  He grew up in Defiance, Ohio and leaves behind sisters Andrea Garcia, Brenda Abdouni, Christine Small, Robin Ahlquist and brothers Anthony Westrick, Nicholas Westrick, Robert Yocklin, and David Yocklin.

Steve loved talking to people about his faith in God, sharing his knowledge of investing, making them laugh by telling jokes, and rooting for the Cleveland Browns and Guardians.

He put his passion for investing to good use by selling financial products and insurance for Thrivent (formerly Aid Association for Lutherans).  He also spent more than two decades of his career as a manager for Frisch’s Big Boy.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 6 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Reeb Funeral Home at 5712 Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio. 

His funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church of the Deaf at 5845 Elmer Drive, Toledo, Ohio.
