Stephanie Lynn (Potter) Leggio passed away unexpectedly at Saint Vincent Hospital on December 30, 2024. She was born on October 3, 1961, to Terry and Sandra Potter in Toledo, Ohio.
The eldest of six children, Stephanie was a natural caregiver. She loved her family fiercely, checking in on her parents, children, and grandchildren daily. Stephanie lived for the moment she became 'Gigi' to each of her grandchildren and showered them with love, attention, too many toys, and lots of sugar.
An avid baker, Stephanie made dozens of Christmas cookies yearly, never let anyone go without a homemade birthday cake, and tried desperately to perfect macarons.
Stephanie loved animals, taking in strays and others' unwanted pets. She would feed, love, and snuggle them until it was their time to cross the rainbow bridge.
Stephanie wanted to travel the world. Her favorite vacation included a stay in Paris, soaking in all the sites and food. She continually looked forward to exploring new areas on her annual 'Girls Trip' with her close girlfriends.
After graduating from Sylvania Southview High School in 1979, Stephanie worked in many different fields including retail and assisting in her children’s preschool. Taking much pride in her work, for the last several years Stephanie was the Inside Sales Manager at Automatic Handling in Erie, MI. She spoke highly of her co-workers, and loved bringing in treats to share for birthdays, holidays, and 'just because'.
Leaving us too soon, there were so many tasks left undone. Her family is devastated at the immense loss of what the future held for Stephanie including retirement, more traveling, and watching her grandchildren grow.
Left to cherish her memory are Stephanie’s parents, Terry and Sandra Potter; her children, Nicholas (Erin) Leggio and Heather (Matt) Stewart; grandchildren, Carter Stewart and Madelyn and Maxwell Leggio; sister, Michelle (Tom) DeBusk; brothers, Christopher, Jeffrey (Tonia), and Andrew (Anne) Potter; aunt, Dessa Monroe; dearest friend, Cheryl (Tom) Borro; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Potter; grandparents, Harold Sr. and Evelyn Phelps and Clarence and Lucille Potter; aunt, Sally Potter; and uncles, Harold Phelps Jr. and Timothy Potter. Stephanie also reunited in heaven with her favorite dogs, Gordon and Carson.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, Tuesday January 7, 2025, from 4 – 8:00 P.M. where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
