Stanley "Stan" Zelasko III Obituary

Stanley J Zelasko III

Stanley (Stan) Zelasko III, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Stan was born February 16, 1950, in Depew, New York to Stanley and Dorothy Zelasko. Stan served in the United States Navy from 1974-1978 when he was honorably discharged. While in the Navy he visited many countries and enjoyed taking photos to send home to his family. He was a natural artist from the time he was a small child and would often doodle during school, you could always find him drawing, even on napkins when he would go out to eat with family. Stan worked as a truck driver for Big A and was a conductor for Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railroad after his discharge from the Navy.  He worked for the Railroad for nearly 30 years traveling from Toledo to Chicago until his retirement in 2011. Stan loved spending time with his family and traveling. You would often find him at War of 1812 reenactments or doing leather work. He had a love for history and was full of knowledge. Stan always made time for his family, taking his grandkids to multiple battle sites and even getting them involved with the reenactments. He was quick with a joke and could make his grandkids laugh with his silly faces or crazy songs. Stan lived an amazing life and will be missed everyday by his family and friends.

Left to cherish Stan’s memory are his wife of 49 years, Margaret (Cowles) Zelasko, son John Zelasko, daughters Marianna (Jerry) Oestrike, and Kasha (Ryan) Rakosik. Seven grandchildren, Alexandria (Daniel), Michael, Grant, Allison, Nicholas, Laney and Dennis and many nieces and nephews. Stan is preceded in death by his parents and son Tristan Zelasko.
