Scott Kohn Obituary

Scott Kohn, 48, of Petersburg, MI, the loving husband, and father of two children, passed away Monday morning, February 1, 2021, while under hospice care. He was born July 10, 1972, in Toledo, Ohio to parents Thurlow “Bud” and Judy (Paren) Kohn. Scott was a 1990 graduate of Summerfield High School. He worked as a finish carpenter with Thompson Construction for more than 18 years.

Scott had a passion for classic Jeep Trucks, and American Motors Cars. He worked extremely hard restoring them. His pride and joy was his 1979 J10 Jeep Honcho, which is featured every year at Jeep Fest in Toledo. He was a member of the Great Lakes Classic AMC Club and a Charter Member of the Wolf Pack. Scott was an avid fisherman. He loved woodworking in his shop, mudding, going to the sand dunes and spending time with friends at Braden Pond.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Evelyn (Sweat) Kohn whom he wed in Monroe Michigan, February 9, 1991; daughter Megan (Collin) Hughes; son Matthew (Larissa Linkins) Kohn; grandchildren Aaron and Austin “Boo Boo” Hughes; parents Bud and Judy Kohn; brothers Steven and Robert (Jen) Kohn; mother in law Velma “Bernice” (Rodger) Shepherd; sister in law Janelle Scott; brothers in law James and Eric Sweat (Jill Holbrook); special nephew Anthony Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law James Sweat; and faithful K-9 companion, and friend Harley.

Scott’s family would like to thank the Elara Caring Hospice for their love and support during this difficult time.
