Sandra Brighty Obituary

Sandra "Sandy" Lee Stevens-Brighty

October 15, 1954 – February 15, 2021

Sandra Lee Brighty age 66, a longtime resident of Sylvania Township passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  Sandy was born in Toledo on October 15, 1954 to Donna (Barnes) and Theodore Stevens. Sandy and her husband Mike of nearly 50 years owned and operated several businesses in Sylvania, Sylvania Metal Detectors, Event Metal Detectors and Brighty Investment Properties. Sandy’s 7 cherished grandchildren were the center of her life all living within minutes of her home. A day did not go by without visits or phone calls. Sandy would always have bowls full of candy and treats when they came in the house. In the winters she would spend time at the family vacation home in St. Augustine Beach Florida with her husband Mike.  Sandy loved to visit new area restaurants and lounge on the beach. Before her grandchildren were born, she spent time volunteering for Make-A-Wish and Olivet Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of (49yrs 3mo) Michael J. Brighty, Sr; daughters, Ashley (Jameil) Aossey; sons, Michael Jr. (Clarissa) Brighty and Justin (Amanda) Brighty; 7 grandchildren who Sandy absolutely adored, Bella, Holden, Harper, Dean, Madden, Gabby, and Nadiya; sisters, Gloria Perry,  Laurie Cantrell,  and brother, Ron  Stevens. Sandy was preceded death by her parents Donna and Theodore Stevens; sisters Karen Cox and Kathy Hampton; brother Terry Stevens.

Sandy’s family would like to thank ProMedica Home Hospice Care, all the caregivers who made her final days comfortable, also Chrysanne Timm who offered Sandy spiritual support.

There will be no services or visitation at this time, a Celebration of Life will take place sometime this summer when it is safe for all her family and friends to attend.

Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider Make-A-Wish Foundation or Olivet Lutheran Church.
