Ruth Ellen (Webb) Ansell

Ruth Webb Ansell, 94, of Avon Lake, Ohio passed away Monday, May 8, 2023. Born in Toledo, Ohio on July 20, 1928 as the eldest of five, she graduated from Burnham High in Sylvania in
1946. After graduation from The Toledo Hospital School of Nursing as an RN in 1949, she married George E. Ansell in October of 1950. Ruth and George lived many places but came to
call Avon Lake, Ohio home. Unfortunately, Ruth was widowed young when her beloved husband, George (Red), passed away in 1986. Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ida (Putnam) Webb, her brothers, George (Janet), Leon (Leta), her sister Jan (Melvin) Boucher. She is survived by her  sister Mary (Dave) McClurg. Surviving Ruth are her children Tom (Ruthie), Nancy (Tim) Ondracek and Jeanne Kenney. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. From Ohio to Florida, Ruth experienced a wonderful life to which she was fortunate to be a very healthy person. Throughout her life, she enjoyed hosting friends and family. She never had a shortage of friends and those who cared about her.
Some of her favorite actives included golfing, trips to the beach, camping, gardening and of course playing bridge. And when she wasn’t busy, you’d find her wrapped up in a good book or
cooking a wonderful feast with the very best desserts. She was an avid animal lover. Her great appreciation for the fine arts not only included the classical and traditional but also included modern music. If you ever borrowed her car, you would be thumping by the current music which she enjoyed. She was very current with the times since she read two newspapers every day.
Her beloved husband, George, made sure she was able to experience all the modern inventions. This included one of the first ever dishwashers and microwaves. And at 94, she maintained to
her best ability this technology even having a smart phone.  Ruth Ansell was a loyal wife, sister, mom and friend.
