Roy Lee Buford, 71, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2024, at Toledo Hospital. He was born September 1, 1952, in Richmond, California, the son of Robert Leland Buford and Ida Mildred (Peters) Buford. Following graduation from high school, Roy joined the Navy where he served proudly during the Vietnam War. After leaving the service, he met and married Linda Craver. They celebrated 52 years of marriage in February.
Roy was a hard-working family man with many talents. Whether it was mechanical or electrical, there were very few jobs he wouldn’t tackle. He also was a trained draftsman and a skilled woodworker making clocks and furniture.
Quiet and reserved, Roy lived his life with a positive attitude, always putting family first. Roy retired from Libbey Glass in 2020 after 16 years.
In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Clare Craver. Also, his sister-in-law, Kathy Templin and brothers-in-law, Mike and Mark Craver.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda, is his son, Cory and his wife, Heather (Bryan), his brother, Robert and his wife, Paula, his sister, Danette and her husband, Dale and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 11am – 1pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Reeb Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, family suggests that tributes be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com.
