Ronald Wilkins Obituary

Ronald Everett Wilkins, known affectionately by all as Ron, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Sylvania, Ohio, at the age of 88. Born on October 9, 1936, in Alton, Illinois, Ron was a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Ron graduated from Libbey High School in 1954, where he first exhibited his love for sports and teamwork. After high school, Ron honorably served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1964, demonstrating his commitment to his country and the values he held dear. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a Company Manager for Certified (Guardian) Alarm and was a respected figure at Highland Meadows, where his leadership and guidance were invaluable.

Ron was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Sharon Wilkins, with whom he shared a life full of joy and companionship. His legacy of love and guidance lives on through his children, Cheryl (William) Kraus and Michael (Lori) Wilkins Sr.; his cherished grandchildren, Lindsay Wilkins, Brian (Barbara) Kraus, Marcus Kraus, and Michael (Heather) Wilkins; and his adored great-grandchildren, Jaiiden, Donteriius, and Miiah. Each of them will carry forward the lessons of kindness, generosity, and compassion that Ron instilled in them.

A sports enthusiast, Ron's passion for the St. Louis Cardinals was matched only by his love of playing baseball, softball, and golf. His competitive spirit was always tempered by a gentle and selfless nature, making him a beloved teammate and mentor. Ron's dedication to nurturing young minds and bodies was evident through his active involvement with the Maumee Youth Camp, where he invested his time and energy into the personal and athletic development of countless youths.

Ron's life was a testament to the values he embodied: thoughtfulness, selflessness, and gentleness. He approached every interaction with a warm smile and an open heart, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. His presence brought comfort and stability to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we remember Ron, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His unwavering support, his enduring patience, and his infinite kindness will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his generous spirit.
