Ronald W. Powers, 91, left us suddenly on May 19, 2025, after a life well-lived and well-loved. Born December 18, 1933, Ron built a full life rooted in family, faith, hard work, and generosity. He will be greatly missed.
A devout Catholic and proud member of St. Joseph Parish for over 50 years, Ron lived his values by offering his time, talent, and heart to others. After earning his BS degree in Chemical Engineering and MBA from Michigan State, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany before beginning a long career with AMC/Jeep/Chrysler. Work took him around the world—including time living in Egypt and Canada.
Ron married his first love, Mary Clare Hogan, and together they raised five wonderful children in a joyful 57-year journey full of travel, sports, noise and laughter. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and every minute spent with family. After Mary Clare’s passing in 2015, Ron found happiness again and married Mary Christine (Rady) Allen in 2016. His later years were filled with travel, singing in the church choir, home projects, cheering on the Packers, and soaking in
the hot tub.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Clare, brother Jerry Powers and grandson Barrett Schwartz. He is survived by his wife Mary Christine; children Terri (Joe) Pasquinelli, Mike
(Kathy), Bill (Debbie), Dave (Tammy), and Sue (Ron) Schwartz; sisters Sue (Bob) Berg, Jean (Kurt) Kroner, Judy Bernd and Cherie (Bruce) Martin; stepchildren Michelle (Kurt) Hoffman, Beth (Josh) Dutridge, Celeste Konecny, Mary (Rich) Kellett, and James (Erika) Allen; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 9 step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held May 26 from 3–7 p.m. at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on May 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Sylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Parish/Choir or the charity of your choice.
