Robert "Jabo" Norman Jasper

Robert “Jabo” Norman Jasper, 75, of Toledo, OH, passed away Thursday January 16, 2025, with his loving wife, Marianne beside him at Toledo Hospital. 

Bob was born February 9, 1949, in Toledo, OH, to Norman and Mary (Rabideau) Jasper. 

Jabo was a graduate of St. Catherine’s grade school where he played pee wee football, attended Central Catholic High School, graduated from Start and attended The University of Toledo. From an early age he enjoyed playing sports with all his neighborhood friends. This bonding continued throughout his life as he always had a wide circle of friends. Bob was quite adventurous in his youth driving to Mexico where he camped on the beach and on an amazing bicycle ride from Toledo to San Franscisco, California. The wanderlust continued throughout his life with many fantastic trips. Jabo began a career as an independent paint contractor. In his 30’s he switched careers when an opportunity came available to join the Jeep team and become a UAW member. Bob worked there until his retirement. He married his long-time love and partner Marianne Miller in 1998. 

He was an avid golfer, enjoying all aspects of the game from playing many of the Toledo and Southern Michigan courses, making clubs, and religiously watching golf on TV, particularly all the major tournaments. His other passion was being a Notre Dame football fanatic (GO IRISH), along with following many other college and NFL teams. Jabo continued his love for travel as he and Marianne enjoyed numerous trips around the USA, Caribbean, Mexico and several cruises. To say Bob was a social person would be an understatement, with a zest for the good life he loved his many friends and was the perennial party man. His loyal friends and family found him easy to love and will greatly miss the good times had by all. 

To cherish Bob’s life is his devoted wife, Marianne; siblings, Donald (Jenny) Jasper, Cherie (Jay) Reed, and Jill (Kent) Fowler; sister-in-law, Marlene Jasper, brother-in-law, John T. Miller; many nieces and nephews, along with numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Kathy Miller; and his many feline pets.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, when the Funeral Service begins. Those wishing to give a memorial are asked to consider a Charity of Their choice.
