Richard P. Ruffier, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away Wednesday February 26, 2025. He was born in Ancmosa, Iowa to Gladys E. (Eveland) and Emile P. Ruffier. He married Marilyn G. Hardy in 1960 and together they raised their 5 children.
Richard proudly served in the US Marines and the US navy for 30 years.
He had many interesting hobbies, he raised draft horses, raced canoe’s and was a Mason and a member of the Shriners. He also ran the Liberty Clyde’s and had a wedding carriage service. Richard was a Registered Nursing working for the Veteran and administration and Fulton County Hospital for many years retiring at age 80.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn children, Richard (Suzanne) Ruffier, Karilyn (Marc) Hartz, Marvin Ruffier, Jason (Melinda) Ruffier and Gary (Khristina) Ruffier, 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren with two on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Marlene Grierindinger and Joan Zeller.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania Tuesday March 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held Wednesday March 5, 2025, at Noon. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania. The family requests any contributions in Richard’s name to the Shriner Hospital. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
