Richard Rising

Richard Rising, 56, of Petersburg, MI, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at The University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor.  He was born October 13, 1964 in Toledo, OH to Robert and Edith (Nichols) Rising.  He married Janet L. Dooley on April 29, 1982 and together they raised a daughter and a son.

Richard graduated from Whiteford Agriculture High School, Ottawa Lake, MI. He worked for Saylor’s, Inc. of Ottawa Lake, MI as a plasterer for many years.  Janet and he loved to camp at Pirolli Park in Petersburg, MI where Richard enjoyed being on their security team.  He was an avid Ohio State University fan but his first love was being a Papa to his grandsons.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Janet; children, Richard Scott (Holly) Rising and Rachel Lynn Rising; grandchildren, Xander and Zane; mother, Edith “Susie” Rising; siblings, Robert (Cheryl) Rising, Roxanne (Darold) Forbes and Tina (Jim) Callaway.  He was preceded in death by his dad, Robert Rising.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Reeb Funeral Home from 1pm until 4pm.  The funeral service will be at Reeb Funeral Home on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 11am.  Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.
