Obituary

Richard G. Moses passed away  Monday August 21, 2023, at the age of 84.

Dick’s journey through life was intentional. He was passionate, generous and his optimism was contagious. Dick was fueled by passion for his career; he called it his hobby. Home building and land development allowed him to combine his love for business, creativity, and social connections. He loved the game of the deal, let’s figure it out and make it work. He didn’t shy away from taking risks.

Dick loved his community and was a member of many organizations. He was president of the local Home Builders Association as well as the state of Ohio Home Builders and continued his involvement at the National level. He invested in the local community by sitting on many boards and held the office of Sylvania Township Trustee, feeding his love for local politics.

Dick loved the social scene. He was most in his element when he could tell a story and bring a laugh to the group, never missing a moment to laugh at himself. His passion for fun was extended to boating on the “Holy Moses” as he navigated the waters of Lake Erie around Toledo Yacht Club and Catawba Island. He then decided to head to the Irish Hills and make his family’s summer home on Devils Lake. Dick and Pat found much happiness there, creating over 30 years of wonderful memories with their children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children:  Amy (David) Levison, Beth (Tom)  Bogdan and Robert (Amy) Moses, grandchildren: TJ (Abby) Bogdan, Sarah (Christopher) Bianco, Mandy (Kevin) Thome, Brooke (Reid) Kersey, Morgan Moses, and Madison Moses, 5 great-grand-children: and brother: James Moses.  He was preceded in death by, loving wife Patricia L. (Stuttle) Moses, parents: James C. and Mary Jean (Counts) Moses,  sister: Vera A. Moses and sister-in-law: Catherine Moses.

Dick touched many lives during his journey on earth. In celebration of his life, we believe his request would be to find an opportunity to do a random act of kindness. Be generous in some way, tell a story, laugh, invest in yourself.  Grab a diet coke and raise it up! May his memory be a blessing to us all.
