Richard Marvin Mellin Jr., age 64, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2026. He was born on September 30, 1961, He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Richard shared a loving marriage with his wife Mary for over 43 years, and together they raised their son, Matthew, who was the pride and joy of his life. He enjoyed spending time at Posey Lake in Hudson, Michigan, where he loved fishing, boating, and cooking. Richard was also a devoted NASCAR fan and would never miss a good University of Michigan Football Game. GO BLUE!!!!

Richard dedicated 45 years of service to Toledo Edison before retiring. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for the outdoors, and the joy he brought to those around him.

He is survived by his mother, Kay Mellin; his beloved wife, Mary Mellin; his son, Matthew Mellin; his sister, Ruth (Billy) his brother, Bob (Marybeth) and his in-laws, Rick (Darla) and Melanie. Many Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces & Nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard Is Preceded in Death by Father Richard Marvin Mellin Sr. Nephew Chad, Niece Melissa.

Services will take place on Thursday May 21, 2026, at Reeb Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 -12:00 PM. With The Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 PM In leu of flowers the family suggest donations to be made to the American cancer society.
