Richard J. Campbell, 75, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home while under hospice care. Dick was born in Toledo, February 22, 1949, to parents Richard A. and Alma (Scheffert) Campbell, and they preceded him in death. Dick was a 1968 Graduate of Sylvania High School. After graduation he began working for the City of Sylvania as a laborer, Dick retired in 2006 after 38 years of service as the Superintendent of the Street Department. Many of his innovations are still in practice today. He loved all animals especially dogs and riding his spotless Harley Davidson Wide Glide Motorcycle.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of more than 56 years, Dodie (Straub) Campbell; daughter, Marie (Ron) Foley; sons, Jim (Kathi) and Tony Campbell; granddaughter, Breanne Campbell; sister Sandra Bunde; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, Ohio, Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, where the Funeral Ceremony will begin at 11:00am Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00am. Dick will be laid to rest at Toledo Memorial Park.
