Phyllis M. Garber, 84, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at her Toledo residence with her loving son by her side, while under hospice care. She was born in Toledo, OH, May 24, 1937, to parents Carl and Elizabeth (LaPoint) Comstock. In her younger years Phyllis enjoyed caring for her siblings and babysitting children in her home. She was proud to be a lifetime member of VFW Post 2898 Ladies Auxiliary, Toledo.
She is survived by her loving son Michael (Judy) Garber; grandchildren Nicole and Mike (Brooke) Garber; great-grandchildren Aaron, Lillian, and Baby Girl Garber who will arrive soon; sister Mary (Ron) Mexicott; and brothers Donald and James (Tina) Comstock; sisters in law Gladys Girardot and Kathleen and Debra Comstock; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Harold A. Garber who died in 1986; sisters Mildred Comstock and Audrey Bender; brothers Robert, Thomas, Richard, and Larry Comstock; sister-in-law Dinah Comstock; and brother-in-law Ted Bender.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Sunday, June 13th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, where the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2898 will begin a service at 7:00 PM. Pastor Paul R. Schmidlin will officiate the Funeral Ceremony Monday, June 14th at 11:00 AM, where family and friends are encouraged to gather one hour prior at the funeral home.
