Paul A. Davenport (WB8TTQ), 93, formerly of Toledo, OH, went to be with the Lord May 20, 2022, while under hospice care in Sun City Center, FL. He was born April 25, 1929, in Toledo to parents Clifford and Helena (Egts) Davenport. Paul graduated from Waite High School in 1953. He was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer with General Motors Powertrain for more than 25 years, retiring in 1988. After retiring he purchased a small business in Sylvania Township called Central Vac. Paul was proud to have served with the United States Navy during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Navy Occupation Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
Paul enjoyed traveling the world. His camping and fishing adventures took him to Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, North America, Alaska, and Canada. He was also an Amateur Radio Operator and enjoyed bird watching. Paul was a former member of the Sylvania Pyramid Lodge and Zenobia Shrine.
He is survived by his daughter, Naomi (Robert) Hovey; sons, Daryl, Donald (Peggy), and David (Karri) Davenport; grandchildren Sean (Donna) Remley, Milissa (Guy) Kimball, Robert Hovey JR., Richard (Marsha) Hovey, Rebecca (Jeff) Gruszecki, Shelby Stuckey, Morgan (Ryan) Maag, Jacob Davenport, Kendal (Dylan) Speziali, Shannon, Danielle Davenport, and Brooke and Brandy O’Dell; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and brother Ralph Davenport. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wives Madelyn (Laylock) Davenport and Martha (Ott) Davenport; sisters Myra Young and Virginia Kennedy; and brothers Clifford and Jack Davenport.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, May 26th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. where Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 27th at 11:00 AM. Paul will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Toledo Memorial Park.
