Paul D. Brooks Jr., 81, of Sylvania Township, Ohio, left his worldly body to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday March 8, 2025. He proudly served his country as a US Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War under MC B11 & MCB 8 as a Second Class Petty Officer. He was a Journeyman Ironworker (specialized as a welder) out of Local 55 for 33 years and drove his Model A with them during the local Labor Day parades.
He loved the Lord, his family and his country. He was also a huge Ohio State football fan, something that he passed down to his children and many of his grandchildren. He loved his antique cars and enjoyed drag racing in his younger years.
He is survived by his lovely bride of 60 years Judith “Judy,” (Morris) Brooks, sister Naomi Tollefson, children, Melinda (Brent) Nowlin, Paul (Teresa) Brooks III, and Jennifer (John) Warns, along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
A full military honors ceremony will commence Saturday April 5, at 1:00 P.M. at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH. A Celebration of Life service will follow at Boulevard Christian Church, Sylvania, Ohio starting at 2:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider donations to Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Human Society.
