Patricia Fisher Obituary

Patricia JoAnne Fisher passed away peacefully after a lengthy bout of COPD.  She was 76 years old.  Pat was born in Cleveland, Ohio but spent her early childhood years in Pedro, Ohio and her formative years in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a 1962 graduate of Dupont Manual High School where she was a majorette for four years as well as a nationally ranked top gymnast. Pat was a guest on a national television show, “What’s My Line” because of her prowess as a gymnast.

PJ, as she was known, worked and lived in Warren, Ohio, Cincinnati, Ohio, Ottawa Lake, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio. She was employed by Sylvania Savings Bank where she started selling dog licenses at a branch office. She ascended via promotions to be an executive secretary at the bank and was involved in the bank’s golf league and Sylvania Vanities annual programs. She also worked at the Port Lawrence Title Company and the University of Toledo.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Wilbur and Marie Kelley; her son, Baby Boy Harris; and her older sister, Barbara Shaw. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Fritz Fisher; her son, Steven Harris (wife Jill) and grandchildren, Allison and Collin Harris of Celina, Ohio; her stepson, Andrew Fisher of Toledo, Ohio; and stepdaughter, Elaine Comer (husband Jim) and granddaughter Amanda Cahill of Toledo, Ohio; and her younger sister, Judith Brown.

Pat was an avid golfer until her health declined. After retirement from the University of Toledo, Pat played in a golf league with the best group of female friends. She truly enjoyed their company, golf and cocktails after.

Pat and Fritz played golf regularly as well and also enjoyed traveling to Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, South Carolina and Arizona. She loved to dance and had a unique ability to engage others in conversations. She was always a fun and outgoing person who enjoyed life.

Her grandchildren were a major focus of hers. She was a participant at as many of their family, extracurricular and academic events as her health allowed. Pat’s job as a parent was well done and well-deserved.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Meyer and Dr. Kristi Marriott-Duval. We want to also thank Promedica Hospice, especially Stephen White, RN, Erica Jones and Jennifer Wilson for their care and comfort.

The family will receive guests at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, Ohio from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5th.  A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2770 W. Central Avenue, Toledo, on Thursday, May 6th at 11:00 am.
