Norman Creller Obituary

Norman E. Creller, age 83, of Temperance, MI, passed away peacefully at his home with his loved ones,  Monday, May 23, 2022. He  was born  November 7, 1938 in Saginaw, MI, where he grew up and graduated high school. He met his loving wife, Karen, in 1984.

Norm was an electrician by trade, worked at Dana Corporation for a number of years and eventually ended up at the Toledo Jeep plant. He was a fixture there as the foreman and maintenance superintendent until his retirement in 2011, where everyone there knew and liked him well. He also worked after retirement for Grogan’s as a porter and then night security. He had an amazing amount of hobbies and was a man who knew how to do absolutely everything. His most passionate hobby was being a HAM radio operator with the call numbers W8NEC and W8MPM, and gained so many close friends both locally and across the world from this passion.

Norm’s biggest accomplishment and passion was his family. He and his wife Karen, who he loved unconditionally for 38 years, had  enjoyed many adventures throughout the years, he loved showing Karen new things and new places, and they loved spending time together.  But by far the biggest adventure was watching their three grandchildren as they grew from babies to now teenagers. His occupation on Facebook, he laughingly listed as “works at Babysittin’ U”.  So many wonderful memories he has shared with his grandkids, there are just  not enough words. He was so proud of his only daughter, Lori Creller, obtaining her doctorate degree, and also of she and his stepson, James Koch, for following in his footsteps at Jeep. The loss that his family feels is indescribable.

Norm is survived by his  loving wife, Karen Creller; daughter, Lori Creller and stepson James (Tara) Koch; grandchildren, Brittany, Nicole, and Kyle; best friend, Doug; many nephews and nieces, and more friends and relatives than you can count. Welcoming him into eternity with open arms are his loving parents, Arthur and Goldie Creller, his son, James A. Creller, his brother Bill, his sisters Nellie and Ruth and many more loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1690 W. Sterns Rd, Temperance, MI 48182, Friday, May 27th at 4:00pm, where we will gather together and celebrate Norm’s life. Interment will be private at Toledo Memorial Cemetery. Online condolences to reebfuneralhome.com
