Norma Adams Obituary

Norma L. Adams, 83, of West Park Place, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2021.

She was born to the late Carl and Frances Dopfer, February 24, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Libbey High School. She lived in Waterville, Ohio on the river for many years but most of her adult life was lived in Sylvania, Ohio where she especially enjoyed the natural beauty and wildlife.

Norma was predeceased by her beloved husband Jess Adams in 2020 and her brother William Dopfer but is survived by her children Nancy (and John) Bates, Stacy Alexander, Jenifer Alexander and Robert Alexander. She also leaves behind a host of loving grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her family meant everything to her and she devoted her time and love to creating fairy tale holidays, family dinners and parties. Norma’s culinary and baking skills were unsurpassed and she shared the fruits of her labor with all. Food was her calling card to neighbors, friends, mourners and her church family and she tirelessly gave unstintingly. Even the woodland creatures behind her home were constantly tended to and fed.

Additionally, she worked full time in the auto industry, the insurance industry and as a realtor for many years. Her passion was working with people to find the perfect home for them because to her “There’s no place like Home.” She loved to decorate and garden and create beautiful spaces that reflected her deep spirituality. Her Christian faith was the bedrock of who she was and she started the White Tulip Ministry to minister to and comfort the aged and infirm in the local nursing homes.

As her health failed in later years she was so grateful to the many friends, church friends and neighbors who so kindly helped her. Our family wishes to thank each and every one of you. While we are grieving the loss of our mother and grandmother we take comfort in knowing the love and support she received sustained her until she could finally go to her true home in Heaven.
