Naomi Ann Girts – Signs departed this life on January 4, 2021 to go home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on August 24, 1933 to Clara Steingass Oehus and Karl Oehus. She married John W. Girts, Jr. in 1954. He passed away in 1992. Naomi worked for many years as a medical transcriptionist at the former Mercy Hospital. She had four children: Elaine Kay Law, Sharon Rockwell (John), John W. Girts and Roger C Girts. Naomi was deeply involved for many years with Alanon and NAMI (National Association for the Mentally Ill) in support of family members. A passion of hers was scrapbooking. She made several really creative books for her children and grandchildren. In 1996, she married Clarence R. Signs, the love of her life. She would end each day by giving him a kiss and telling him how blessed she was to have him in her life. This love never faltered. She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence, sister Mary Boland, children Sharon, John and Roger, and numerous grandchildren and nieces. Her daughter, Elaine Kay and her grandson, John W. Girts, Jr, preceded her in death. A special shout out to the doctors and nursing staff of Unit 1B at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion her last week. Friends and family may call at the Grace Lutheran Church, 4111 Monroe St. Toledo, OH. Tuesday January 12th from 10:00 AM. until the Funeral Ceremony begins at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to NAMI, an organization devoted to the dignity of the mentally ill.
