Nancy Helen (Sexton) Miller (also known as Nancy Miller-Semetko) passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, surrounded by her loving family. Her enduring legacy will be her selfless dedication to nurturing the many lives entrusted to her care and her commitment to living every day with grace, compassion, fidelity, enthusiasm, and fortitude.
Nancy was born on October 17, 1930, the eldest of five children of Frank and Helen Sexton. After graduating from Central Catholic High School and St. Vincent School of Nursing, she married Norman H. Miller in 1952. Together, she and Norm raised ten children in a close-knit family steeped in tradition, all while instilling the values that were fundamental to her character: deep spirituality, boundless curiosity, intellectual growth, hard work, self-discipline, integrity, and service. She embraced motherhood and found meaning and purpose in both the triumphs and hardships inherent in that role. Her nursing skills were certainly put to the test countless times! She was a true and equal partner with Norm. During their 57 years together, she played an integral role in building a variety of successful enterprises with him, which included the real estate company that became Miller Diversified Inc. Equally important, she created home around her – a safe harbor where her husband and family found love and respite from the turbulent seas of the world. Her commitment to family did not constrain her adventurous and wild side. She and Norm traveled to all 50 states and to over 20 countries on five continents, including extended trips to Alaska and Europe with all of their children. She was the first to raise her hand for a new experience or to push her own boundaries. All of this was grounded in her quiet and profound spirituality. Every day she truly lived the values of her unshakeable Catholic faith; in that way, she was the beacon on the hill for many.
After Norm passed away in 2009, her irrepressible spirit and joy of living remained undampened. In 2012, she married Frank Semetko, who survives her. They became a model to family and friends of how to live vigorously, wisely and fully, notwithstanding inevitable challenges and losses. They kept one another vibrantly engaged in family, community, and new endeavors, including extensive travel together.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. She is survived by her ten children, Christopher (Judy), Janet, Jane Mackovjak (Mike (deceased)), Joyce Konieczny (Tim), Claudia Anderson (Kevin), Jeffrey (Beth), Gerald (Ruth), Kurt (Kristen), Kathryn Natzke (Dave), and James (Lisa Kavalhuna); her 35 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; one brother (Joe); and five Semetko step-children: Susan Bauerle (John (deceased)), Joan Lintz (Randy), Patricia Hollern (Paul), Daniel Semetko (Debbie) and eight Semetko grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Historic Church of St. Patrick on Thursday, July 11 at 10:30 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
