Michael E. Ulrich

Michael E. Ulrich, 73, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at The Oakleaf Village. He was born to Carl and Betty (Lewis) Ulrich on November 5, 1948 in Toledo, OH. He married Barbara A. Stevens in 1980 and together they raised three wonderful children.

Mike graduated from Maumee High School in 1967, where he played football. Immediately after, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving 4 years during the Vietnam War. Mike began his career as a carpenter, eventually becoming the business representative for The Great Lakes Regional Council. 

Mike and Barb enjoyed visiting the birth places of the United States presidents, traveling to Daytona Beach, FL to visit his sister, and participating in many Races for the Cure. He enjoyed riding his bike, walking in the Toledo Metroparks and volunteering at the American Red Cross. He had a great sense of humor and was an excellent cook and baker. Mike loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his children, Gerry (Michael) Holmes, Geoff Ulrich and Katherine Ray; grandchildren, Zachary, Brianna and Tommy; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Cunningham and Linda (Hank) Lehrer; nieces, Julie (Matthew) Levine and Jennifer (Michael) Peterson; great nieces, Carys and Chloe. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and sister, Marilyn Galbreth.  

Visitation for Michael, along with a celebration of life for his wife, Barbara, who passed away June 28, 2021, will be Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 4 pm – 8 pm at Reeb Funeral Home where the service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions to Ohio Living Hospice.
