Shawn Skeldon, born November 26, 1962, to Michael Skeldon and Judith DeWeerd, passed away on July 6, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio.
Shawn spent much of his life in Toledo, Ohio, but spent his teenage years growing up in Texas, where he developed a lifelong love for the state. He always enjoyed returning to Texas to visit
family, reconnect with loved ones, and make lasting memories.
Shawn was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. After his first date with his beloved wife, Sandy, he walked into the room his nieces were in and
told them “Alright, you can call her Aunt Sandy!” and they were married 6 months later to the date. He cherished time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren, who brought him endless
joy, and some of his happiest moments were simply being together with them and his family.
He loved football, especially Notre Dame, and was well known for his love of barbecuing. Many of the best memories shared with Shawn were made around the grill, surrounded by family,
laughter, and good food.
Shawn was dedicated, hardworking, and deeply proud to provide for his family. He worked for his own company up until the day he left us, demonstrating loyalty, commitment, and strength
throughout his career.
Shawn was preceded in death by his parents: Michael Skeldon and Judith DeWeerd, uncle: Tim Skeldon, and nieces: Megan and Mandy Wickard. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy
Skeldon; his daughters, Zoe (Matthew) Broyles, Alyssa Murrell, and Erika Murrell; his sisters, Nicole and Jeanne Skeldon; and his cherished grandchildren, along with many extended family
members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Shawn will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his Texas roots, his generous spirit, and his ability to bring people together. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who
knew and loved him. Per Shawn’s wishes there will be no funeral service, and his celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
