Michael J. Hooper, 44, passed away in his sleep early morning on Tuesday, May 5th. Michael is the son of Michael and Susan Hooper born December 7, 1981. Michael and his younger sister Whitney both attended Sylvania Northview where he graduated in 2000.
Over the years Michael developed many interests with knowledge in computers, beautiful photography and working in radio doing voice overs, & commercials to name a few. Many knew him as “Trooper Hooper” while working at WSPD with Fred LeFebvre reporting on the traffic, also working on 107.7 The Wolf and as the executive producer of Gun Talk with Jim McKenzie. Michael loved his job at Cumulus Radio as Sales Promotion Manager. He was an active member of the NRA and earned a Carry & Conceal Instructor License to teach others gun safety.
Michael had a unique and artistic ability to capture simple subjects to give them the wow factor. He was always smiling, laughing and charismatic. His younger sister, Whitney is devasted to loose her brother. Michael is also leaving behind to cherish his memory his half-brother Charles Hooper, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his housemate and dear Friend, Bobby Balog.
Visitation will be held at Reeb Funeral Home on Wednesday May 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM -2:00 P.M. .
