Our healthy happy Meia was born on August 11, 2022 at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Meia died suddenly in her sleep on January 15, 2023 from sudden infant death syndrome. Meia was born with a head full of beautiful black hair and the prettiest eyes her parents had ever seen. She was her mother’s fifth and last baby, and her father’s first and only daughter. Not only was she their pride and joy, but she completed their family and their lives. Meia made bonds everywhere she went; she demanded attention, and nobody could resist her. She loved watching Cocomelon with her brother, Michael. They always found a way to hold hands and fall asleep together. She loved her daddy’s attention and his voice. She would light up the moment he stepped in the room, and she absolutely adored her mommy. Meia loved giving kisses and getting them and was most comfortable when she was being cuddled. Her high-pitched screams, coo’s and belly laughs made anybody smile. She was ticklish everywhere. She loved to be talked to and told stories to, too. At five months she was starting to move around, touch her toes, grab at things, and her mommy and daddy enjoyed every second of watching her learn and grow. She was always smiling. She would stare at her hands for hours and loved taking baths. She loved patty cake with her sister and being sang and rocked by her grandmas. Meia had a huge family that loved her from Toledo to Cleveland. She had four brothers (her half-brothers Logan Allen, Brydon Allen, Kayden Ark) then Michael Hodge, III, her full big brother; and her one and only big sister, Lillie Grace Allen. She has one living aunt, Gabrielle Urrutia; two aunts in heaven with her, Sandra Hodge and Michelle Hodge; two wonderful and loving grandmas, Venus Hebert and Gloria Hodge; and countless cousins that all loved her. Though her precious life was cut short, her memory will live on with us all. Rest peaceful you perfect beautiful angel.
