Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, Matthew W. Dallas, age 93, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Otterbein Senior Life Neighborhood in Monclova. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to Samuel and Hazel (Williams) Dallas on January 7, 1929. He was a proud veteran serving his country in the United States Marine Corp in both World War II and Korea. He was a Sylvania staple, retiring from Fleeger’s Hardware after more than 53 years of supporting his community. Matthew loved meeting people and quite literally making friends with everyone he met. You could always count on him for a great story, a wonderful “Dad” joke, and so many catch phrases and sayings to make you smile that will live in everyone’s hearts and memories for years to come. He was also a Major in the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary and a long-time member of the Joseph W. Diehn American Legion Post, holding many leadership positions and receiving multiple awards for his service. He was preceded in death by his adoring wife, Barbara, and youngest son, Matthew “Wesley.” Matthew is survived by his loving sons, David (Diana) and Keith (Angie) Dallas; granddaughters Dana Dallas, Brandy (Jeff) Elliott, and Leara Dallas (Eric Schuler); 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Pendalis Dallas, and sister, Ruth Herzberg; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, Thursday, April 28, 2022 4-8:00 P.M. where funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.
