Matthew Donald Bryan was born in Toledo, Ohio, and passed away in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was the oldest son of the late Jack Morgan Bryan and JoAnn (Courtney) Bryan.
Matthew graduated from Sylvania High School in 1972. Afterward, he attended Teterboro School of Aeronautics where he earned an Airframe and PowerPlant Mechanical License as well as his pilot license. He then moved to Florida where he was a corporate pilot for several banks for 12 years. He then moved his family to Atlanta, Georgia where he was employed by Epps Aviation working on Beechcraft airplanes for 20 years. When his health started to fail, he moved to Jefferson City, Missouri to be close to his sisters.
Matt had a lifelong fascination with flight. When he wasn’t flying, he liked to pilot drones and remote-controlled planes. He also learned to scuba dive and spent many happy hours on the golf course. He was an avid fan of anything Tim Allen (actor) was in and loved Walker, Texas Ranger. At home, he shared his days with his cocker spaniels who were never far from his side.
He is survived by his son, Eric (Amanda) Bryan, of Atlanta, daughter Allison (Nick) DiGiovanni, of Atlanta and his brother Bradley Bryan, his sisters, Susan Aasen and Sandra Bryan and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, on Friday October 24, 2025, 11:00 am. until the service begins at 1:00 P.M. Entombment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania.
