Mary Bernadette (Alexander) Priebe

Mary Bernadette Priebe, 90, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Kingston Residence of Sylvania. Mary was born in Toledo, OH, July 28, 1933, to parents Raymond and Anna (McWilliams) Alexander. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1951 and enrolled in the St. Vincent School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1954. Mary served as an R.N. at the St. Vincent Hospital until 1959, when she became a wife and homemaker. After leaving St. Vincent, Mary worked varied positions in nursing, including work in a physician’s office and in a blood pressure program for seniors. Later she began employment with the Hobby Center / The Toy Store at the Franklin Park Mall. It was during this time that Mary became an avid collector of teddy bears.  

Mary is survived by her daughter; Susan (Charles) Westrick; sons; John and Joseph Priebe; grandchildren; Elisha, Matthew, and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband C. Richard Priebe in 2013.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Wednesday, August 30th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with Scripture Services beginning at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, August 31st at 11:00 am. where family and friends are invited to gather one-hour prior. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband at Resurrection Cemetery following the Mass.
