Mary Lou (Green) Lister

Mary Lou Lister, 80, a long time Sylvania, OH, resident passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023. She was born in Sylvania, June 27, 1942, to parents Lloyd “Shorty” and Thelma (Porter) Green. Mary Lou graduated from Burnham High School in 1960. She served as a secretary with the Toledo Public Schools for more than 50 years. Mary Lou, along with her husband became  founding members of Glass Capitol Region VCCA in 1973 and remains so until today. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bunco with friends, and winters spent in Boynton Beach, FL. Mary Lou was a hands-on Mom and Grandma, and friend to everyone. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years and loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters Susan Jurski and Jennifer Raleigh; grandchildren Andrew (Stephanie) Jurski, Emily (Brian) Lescallett, Kaitlin (Jeffrey) Flynn, Kasey (Alyssa) Smith, and Jordyn Jurski; great-grandchildren Lena, Braxton, Myles, Bennett, and Oliver; brother James (Claudia) Green; nieces, nephews, and special friends Paul Svatik and David Jurski. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband Kenneth K. Lister.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, May 4th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, where Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 5th at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest beside Kenneth at Toledo Memorial Park.
