Mark Hartzell, age 72, longtime resident of Blissfield MI, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 9th, 2026. Beloved by both family and many friends, Mark was a good and kind person to all.
Mark enjoyed farming, tractors and classic cars. He made his living selling farm equipment, and was always willing to lend a hand, whether he knew you or not.
Mark love animals, going for long drives in the country or around Devil's Lake, good food, and good company. He was an avid vegetable gardener, and had a great love for collectible toy tractors. He loved tending to the squirrels and birds in his backyard. He adored his grand-dog Lou, and many kitties of his daughter's.
Mark treasured when his 5 year old grandson Sam came to visit, and always had a treat or surprise for him, just to make Sam smile. He could always make you laugh, and his sense of humor was one of the most endearing things about him.
He never asked for recognition, he just wanted to make sure that anyone who crossed his path was taken care of. He gave, and asked for nothing in return. His joy was to create happiness for those he loved.
Mark leaves behind a beautiful legacy of kindness and generosity that will be passed on to his children's children. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Lenawee Humane Society, in honor of his cat Spike, whom he loved dearly and treated like a best buddy.
