Mary (Maribel) Dierks was born on March 29, 1924, in Perrysburg, Ohio, to the Rev. and Mrs. Fred J. Reed. She was a sister to four siblings and graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1941.
She was employed by Lion Store, Surface Combustion, and Toledo Hospital. Mary married Leo Dierks on May 3, 1944, and they shared 63 years of marriage until Leo’s passing. Together, they traveled throughout the United States and parts of Europe. She later traveled to the Holy Lands with a church group.
After raising two children, Mary worked for Netcraft Fishing Tackle and volunteered for many years at the Toledo Botanical Garden. When there is decent weather, one could find her working in her backyard flower garden.
Mary returned home to her Creator on August 2, 2025. She was a woman of great faith, placing her hope and salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a devoted member of Hope United Methodist Church for Nearly 60 years.
She is survived by her son, Duane (Connie) Dierks; daughter, Jean (Dan) Holzscheiter; grandchildren, Michael (Karen) Dierks, John (Marcey) Dierks, and Kee (Art) Dierks; great-grandchildren, Kianna, Danek, Victoria, Brandon, and Hannah; and great-great-grandchildren, T.J. and Kyra.
The family wants to thank Kianna Dupree, Mary’s great-granddaughter, for the loving care she provided as a caregiver.
