Margaret "Margie" T. (Reves) Reed

Margaret “Margie” T. Reed, 79, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at Charter Assisted Living. She was born May 13, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia, to parents John H. and Charlie E. (Reves) Thompson. Margaret graduated from Jordan High School in 1963. She attended Pima College, the University of Arizona, Tucson, and the University of Toledo where she studied Art History and took many advanced art courses. Margie held  Civil Service positions in Georgia and Arizona for 10 years, was employed with Dillard’s Department Store for 4 years, and Lourds University for 5 years. Her life was focused on her love of God, her family, and art. Margie was a lifelong artist. She loved and excelled at drawing and multiple mediums of painting. As a member of art clubs, Margie was a frequent vendor at art shows in Toledo and Tucson, Arizona.

She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley, visiting Graceland many times and Margie and John renewed their 50th Anniversary Vows at the Chapel of Graceland.

Margie loved time spent with her family. Even with her hectic schedule she was always able to attend her sons athletic and school events.

She was an active member and volunteer of the First Baptist Church, Perrysburg for more than 35 years, and a volunteer with the Sylvania City Schools.

Margie is survived by her loving husband of more than 52 years John Reed; sons Scott Aaron and John Jason “JJ” Reed. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Barbara Reves.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10:00am until the Funeral Ceremony officiated by Pastor Jeff Woolum begins at 12:00pm.
