Linda L. Makatura

Linda Louise Makatura. Lin, a resident of Temperance, MI formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home with family Friday, May 28, 2021. She was born in Toledo on April 5, 1955 to Steven and Mary Lou Makatura. Lin graduated from Maumee High School in 1973 and from Case Western Reserve in 1977 attaining a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and B.S. in Psychology (2 degrees in 4 years!!). She worked at Toledo Edison Davis Besse for 23 years before retiring to spend time with her family. Lin married her best friend Jim in May of 1984 and raised two daughters. Her daughters both remained in the area after starting their own families, it was her greatest joy that everyone was able spend time together so frequently. She enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family on numerous vacations. Some of her hobbies included gardening, cooking, sewing, purse and shoe shopping for her daughters and grandchildren and had an eye for decorating.  Most of all she enjoyed planning and hosting all holidays and family get togethers. Surviving is her loving husband of 37 years, Jim Hummel; daughters Linsey (Kyle) Ganues, Courtney (Seth) Phillips; grandchildren Beckett and Landon Ganues.  Also surviving is her sister Sandy (Chuck) Hawley. Immediate family will celebrate her life privately.  Lin would want everyone to remember and toast to the good memories with her.
