Leonard Hofer, age 98, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, after living the last two years at Hampton Manor in Lambertville. He was born December 16, 1925, in South Dakota and was an US army medic during WWII.
He graduated from SDSU and then received his MBA in Hospital Administration from George Washington University in Washington D.C. He was employed at Crestview (Flower Hospital Campus) and Mercy Hospital, and following retirement, received his real estate license.
Leonard married Correne Christensen in 1952 and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. He and Correne were members of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Leonard is survived by his children, Scott of Florida, Stephanie (Jeffrey) of Tennessee, and Jennifer (Daniel) of Michigan, grandchildren, David (Celeste) Liebrecht, Christine (Evan) Goldstein, Matthew (Becky) Liebrecht and great-grandchildren, Dawson, Cora, Leo, Ella, Amelia, Chloe and two more on the way. He is survived by his sisters Rita, Barbara, Margaret, and brother, Paulie, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delano and Marilyn Christensen, all of South Dakota. Leonard was preceded in death by his spouse, Correne Hofer, his sisters Genevieve, Susan and brothers Delbert and Delano.
The family is truly grateful for the wonderful care Dad received from all of the terrific staff and caregivers at Hampton Manor in Lambertville, and the most empathetic hospice nurses, Tammy and Molly.
