Lee Ann Salas Obituary

                                                                                                Age 55             September 24th, 1968- February 14th, 2024

It is with profound sadness that on February 14th, 2024 we announce the peaceful passing of Lee Ann Tabbert-Salas, age 55, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and true friend to many.

Lee Ann was born on September 24th, 1968, at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida to Rebecca Ann (Wright), and Elwin “Butch” Charles Tabbert.

As a child navigating the country roads of Ottawa Lake Michigan, Lee Ann’s spirit radiated through her playful nature and the meaningful friendships she made while attending Whiteford schools. Her adventurous ways and quick wit brought laughter to those around her; whether it was skipping school and hiding in a doghouse full of spiders with her sister, working in a bean field to earn money to buy her little sister jelly bean shoes and a matching raincoat or roaming the country ditches simply enjoying the plants.

As an adult Lee Ann forged life long friendships pursuing various interests such as Martial Arts, practicing in Kuk Sool Won for several years, embarking on a nursing career where her compassionate nature shone brightly,  and attending many events such as parties- particularly around Halloween or gatherings that involved her life long love affair with crystals and gemstones. Her talents extended to writing poems and short stories along with singing , having been blessed with a soft voice that easily touched hearts. Her insatiable curiosity led her to study religions, history, and mythologies, creating deep connections with others that shared these interests.

Above all, Lee Ann was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She treasured her daughter Kalie and embraced every moment with her grandson Noah and granddaughter Holly. She was especially passionate about her role as their magical Hamma (Grandma). It is clear her love for her family knew no bounds.

Throughout life's trials, including her courageous battles with cancer and subsequent illnesses, Lee Ann displayed a strength and resilience that inspired all who knew her. Her laughter, even in the darkest of times, was a beacon of hope showcasing the depth of her character and the indomitable spirit that defined this remarkable woman. Leaving behind a legacy of love, light, charm and boundless generosity that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.

Lee Ann will be greatly missed by her mother Rebecca Tabbert, daughter Kalie Salas, son in-law Timothy Williams, grandchildren Noah and Holden “Holly” Williams, sister Peggy Martinez, brother in-law Jose Martinez, aunt Cindy Chatman, nephew Christopher Tabbert, nieces Andrea Villegas and Jadah Martinez, beloved cat Bella, and several close friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Sunday March 24th, 2024 from 2pm-5pm at Wildwood Farmhouse located at 4830 W Central Ave Toledo Ohio where family and friends may gather together honoring memories made over the years.

In the wake of her passing, may we find comfort in the knowledge that Lee Ann’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and may her memory be a source of strength and inspiration for all who were privileged to have known her.
