Leatrice Naomi Rawson

Leatrice Naomi Rawson, 95, of Toledo,  passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at Kingston Care Center in Sylvania OH. Leatrice was born February 6, 1927 to Otto and Ivy (Eccleston) Karow. She was married to Robert B. Rawson of Temperance MI for 64 years until his death in 2011.

Leatrice loved and enjoyed her family and long-time friends. She was a proud graduate of Whitmer High School, where she was a member of the cheer leading team. Several of her long-time friends dated back to her Whitmer days.  Her extended family connections were broad and deep spanning both her and her husband Bob’s array of siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.  She kept a gracious home, excelled at cooking, enjoyed her flower gardens, and for many years boated on Lake Erie with her husband. She was an avid sports fan, cheering for family teams, Toledo Storm hockey team, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. 

Surviving family members include sons, Bruce and Michael (Sandra Orsatti); grandchildren Derrick (Sandy), Dana (Madelyn), Adrian Rawson-Pierce, Justin (Tina Horak), Jeffery (Michelle), Kyle, and Tyler (Jasmine Assels); great-grandchildren Hannah (Bryan) Wood, Caitlyn (Lukas) Newbold, Lauren, Hunter (Cassy), Shae, Maretta, Kallen, Kennedy Pierce, Ryan Pierce, Dylan Pierce, Kira, Skyler, Riley, Aramiah, Liam, and Lincoln; and great-great-grand daughter Hazel Naomi Newbold. Extended family members include sister-in-law Donna Crawford McLuckie, Donna Rawson Mens, Bob Mens, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Otto Karow, sisters Lucille Graham and Charlotte Bomar.

Visitation will be at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, Ohio on Saturday, January 28 between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. A brief service will be held at 11: a.m. Entombment will be in Toledo Memorial Park.
