LeRoy E Grodi, age 96, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Parkcliffe Memory Care Community after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born May 30, 1924 to Leo F and Myrtle (Doursha) Grodi. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII as a gun crewman and supervised his own gun crew. He was stationed in the Western Pacific, Okinawa and acquired 2 bronze stars and a victory medal. He was discharged in 1946. After returning home he became a tile setter retiring after 35+ years and enjoyed many summers with family and friends at the lakes around the Hillsdale, MI. area
LeRoy, fondly referred to as "Babe" married Laura (Gibson) in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 2004. His children are Michael (Yvette) Grodi, Gail (Doug) Baumgartner, Mark (deceased) (Denise) Grodi, Sandy (Kirk) Evans. In addition he has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
