Larry E. Edinger, 73, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the Lakes of Sylvania, after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 53 years, Faye (Spence) Edinger; his mother, Mae; his daughter, Laurie (Andy) Strong; and his grandchildren, Bryce, Ryan and Claire; and his four-footed, fluffy baby, Molly. Larry was preceded in death by his father Robert J. Edinger; and son, Robert P. Edinger.
He was born on April 23, 1948 in Findlay, Ohio, to parents Robert and Mae (Gonyer) Edinger. After many years working for the Union as a carpenter, Larry opened and operated Edinger Construction, along with his son, Bob, for over 14 years. In 1990, Larry and Faye broke ground on the house that he designed and built, with the help of many family and friends, and in which Faye will continue to live. People couldn’t help but like Larry - he had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to help others in any way he could, was exceptionally creative and would always find a way to “make it work”, was fiercely loyal to his family, his friends and to the Ohio State Buckeyes and generally lived up to his nickname at the Lakes, Larr-Bear. He loved boating, traveling, camping and working on his never-ending “projects” including remodeling, upgrading anything and everything where he envisioned something better and painting and teaching ceramics. Larry also did his best to live by the rule “he who has the most toys wins!”. Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. We are the winners.
Friends are invited to gather at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Wednesday, June 30,th from 2:00 PM. until the Memorial Service begins at 4:00 PM.
Larry’s family would like to thank the staff at Lakes of Sylvania for their loving care and support during this exceedingly difficult time.
Those wishing to offer memorials in Larry’s memory are asked to consider the Parkinson’s Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
