Kevin James Achinger

Kevin James Achinger, 61, of Temperance, MI, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at Flower Hospital. Kevin was born in Toledo, OH, November 1, 1960, to parents David and Marjorie (Benner) Achinger. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Kevin excelled in the Special Olympics where he was awarded Gold and Silver Medals in Basketball and Poly Hockey. Kevin was extremely knowledgeable about sports. His favorite teams were the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons, and the University of Michigan.

Kevin is survived by his loving mother, Marjorie Achinger; aunts, Barbara Callis, Donna Miller, Susan Benner, and Kathy Kaminski; uncles, Charles and Mark Benner. He was preceded in death by his father, David and brother, Darren Achinger; grandparents, Christian and Vivian Achinger and Vern and  Anna Marie Benner.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Friday January 14th from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral ceremony begins at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rick Disler will officiate. Kevin will be laid to rest with his dad and brother at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
