Kenneth Newbury passed away suddenly on May 14, 2023. He was born on September 27, 1949 to Alvah and Ellen Ingersoll in Fremont OH. The Ingersolls passed away and Ken was adopted at the age of six by Iris and Wilbur Newbury of Toledo. He was a 1967 graduate of DeVilbiss High School and attended Statzenberger College. He married his wife, Joan (Coss) and they celebrated their 50th Anniversary on May 12. Ken was a sheet metal worker by trade and he owned and operated Complete Heating and Air Conditioning for 30 years. He built and grew the business on respect and honesty and had loyal builders and repeat customers year after year. In the nineties he was the President of Toledo Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors Association. He was a member of Robinson-Locke Masonic Lodge (formerly Boaz Lodge) and Palestine Order of the Eastern Star Chapter (formerly May Elliot Chapter).
Ken and Joan raised their children in West Toledo and in 2008 permanently moved to their home at Posey Lake, Michigan. Ken had a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and a heart of gold. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time on the Lake, made a yearly trip to Florida, enjoyed a glass of good bourbon, and was a doting Papa to his Grandson, Joe.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; their children Kerry (Darren) Meggitt, Ken Newbury, grandson, Joe; his sister, Helen (Joe) Leal, brothers, Terry (Kathy) Murphy, Jerome (Linda) Newbury and sister-in-law, Judy Meinert.
Ken had many special nieces and nephews, cousins galore and he was lucky to be surrounded by the greatest group of friends; including the Euchre Club, the Heating Group, and the Posey Lake gang! He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ronald Beam, Wayne Newbury, and Dennis Lytle; nephew Bob Kulwicki and niece, Nicky Newbury Shaffer.
