Kenneth Adamski Obituary

Kenneth C. Adamski, 76, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Inpatient Unit, with his loving wife and son at his side. He was born in Toledo, OH, March 10, 1947, to parents Chester and Lucille (Dzialok) Adamski. Ken was a 1965 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. He graduated from the University of Toledo in 1971. He was employed primarily as a conductor starting in 1967 with New York Central Railroad and retired from CSX Railroad in 2011. He enjoyed playing softball and pool with many of his friends. He was a sports enthusiast for the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Pistons. Ken was a passionate fan for The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Ken met Jan in December, 1972. Ken married Jan Clark on September 24, 1977 at Little Church of the West, in Las Vegas, NV.  In 1980, Ken and Jan became involved in standardbred horses. For over 40 years they raced and bred horses. Their horses would race at the various tracks and fairs mainly in the Midwest area. Ken was a longtime member of the United States Trotting and Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association.

Ken was very proud of his son, Brian, and all of his accomplishments. His pride and joy were his grandson, Bodhi, and granddaughter, Lydia. They meant the world to him and he loved them so much. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; son, Dr. Brian (Ashly) Adamski; grandchildren, Bodhi and Lydia; sisters-in-law, Jean Mauthe, Joan Clark, Mildred Clark, and June Ostertag; brother-in-law, Jim Clark; and his good friend, Jim Heilner, who Ken considered a brother. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Tom Clark, Robert Mauthe, and Tom Ostertag; and his good friend, John Loeb, who he considered a brother.      

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Friday, June 30th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Ken’s family would like to thank Dr. Bomer and Kay and the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Karen, Sandy, Diane, Alice, Trixie, Ashley, Alana, and Chaplain Rose for their loving care and support.
