Kellyann Hartnett Obituary

Kellyann Jeanine Hartnett, born on November 14, 1963, passed away January 1, 2026 at the age of 62, after a long, courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her family and God’s grace. Kellyann married Doug Hartnett on May 9, 1992 and together they became an immediate family. Kelly said her most important gift from God was becoming a passionate mother to Andrew and Amanda (babydoll). She poured herself into ensuring they had a solid foundation to grow up and become successful adults. She also became a second mom to many of their friends during their school years, earning her nickname “Mama Bear.” She always opened up the house to their high school and college friends.

As the kids became adults, she turned her focus to being Grandma Kelly to Amanda’s sons, Carter (age 6) and Owen (age 2). While the grandkids will not get to know her for the long run, the short amount of time spent will resonate throughout their lives. Kelly was a great parental role model to Amanda, as Amanda has become for her sons. She also was a big supporter of Andrew’s robotics team he formed in 2016, spending hours talking about robots, competitions and watching Battlebots. One of her fondest memories was the 2025 World Robotics Championship weekend in Houston.

While raising two young children, Kelly worked 45 hours a week and attended school on a fulltime basis. She earned her bachelors degree in Health Information Technology and worked for a variety of healthcare organizations. After being diagnosed with cancer for a second time in 2024, Kelly retired after eight years with ProMedica, which she said was the best job she ever had. She loved the people and the ProMedica organization.

Faith was an extremely important part of Kelly’s life. We wish to thank Sylvania First United Methodist, Maumee United Methodist, and Calvary Church. She met many amazing people and felt blessed by the love shown by all those members, especially Pastor Russ Tichner and Associate Pastor Joanie Schilling who both helped her navigate through her first battle with cancer in 2016. When she was diagnosed in 2024, Kelly’s sister Candy became a constant caregiver of support taking on many responsibilities and helping Kelly prepare for her end of life. She was not only Kelly’s sister, but her guardian angel.

Her other passion was ballroom dancing. She joined The Ballroom Company in Maumee early in 2018 after her first bout with cancer. She soon began competing in and winning many competitions. She was also a vocal cheerleader for all her other friends during these competitions, and the true measure of her happiness was the smile she wore as a result watching them succeed as well. They became her second family.

Kelly is survived by her husband Doug; children Andrew Hartnett (Kara Boyer), Amanda (Nathan) Cain, grandsons Carter and Owen Cain; sisters Candace (Jim) Seving, Shereen Streeter, brother Michael Streeter, multiple nieces, nephews, in-laws, and her best friend from childhood, Margot Hillenbrand. She is preceded in death by her father Larry Streeter, mother Alice Grabarczyk, stepfather Richard Grabarczyk, and sister-in-law Debbie Streeter. We wish to thank her amazing team at the Cleveland Clinic, Toledo Clinic Cancer Center and Ohio Living Hospice. They were all compassionate and true caregivers.
